Chant, Chai and Charity

Hey All,
We had a wonderful event back home in Philadelphia at Yoga on Main called CHANT, CHAI AND CHARITY on November 26th.
It was an afternoon featuring local Kirtan wallahs raising funds for Amma'a Charitable Organizations and a local charity called Ruby's Kids which offers services for underpriveledged children. It was a success on every level. The support from the community was amazing and the Love was flowing. Here are some photos from the event. All Love, David

Shut Up and Sing

Hey All,
I have a funny story. So, I have to say that this last tour, lasting 5 weeks, was beyond blissful. Mira and I had such a wonderful time connecting with so many blessed beings. So, there was one morning where I was feeling the strain of travel and found myself more in my head than heart. I was sitting at a coffee shop with Mira and I was talking, or rather complaining, about something - shall we say having a moment! So, I looked up and the man at the next table was holding up a newspaper and in big bold letters, it said "SHUT UP AND SING". I laughed at the reminder as it felt like it came directly from my Guru. Well, I told the story several time on the road to audiences and no one had any response as to where these words could have come from - so the mystery remained. Then, the last day on the road, my friend and drummer Morgan doctor was telling me about this great movie she had seen about the Dixie Chics controversy surrounding a comment one of the members had made about George Bush and the name of the movie - SHUT UP AND SING! And then upon my return home, my friend Jenni Young had sent me the image above. What a hoot. Messages come in the strangest ways. What is mundane for one can have deep significance for another. Meanwhile, the sign took me back to deep gratitude and on purpose and never did I find myself in the space I was in that morning for the duration of the tour. Jai Gurudev! Dd-

OM TIME in COLORADO

Hey everyone.
Hope you are enjoying the new website. Kudos to Sopurkh Singh Khalsa for doing a beautiful job (in my opinion).
Mira and I are in Boulder, CO and just wanted to say a quick hello as I am starting to get in the swing of the blog thing. We'll be at OM TIME yoga for two kirtans and a workshop this weekend! Here is a cool photo Mira took of a parking meter we parked at in Charleston, SC. The time left on the meter was 108 minutes. Ohhh Chills! Love, David
